Getting Started

What is Cardly™?

Cardly™ is a modern digital business card platform that lets you create, customize, and share professional business cards instantly. Share via QR code, NFC tap, link, or email signature — no paper needed.

How do I create a digital business card?

Sign up for a free account, then use our card editor to add your name, title, company, contact details, social links, and profile photo. Choose a design template or customize colors and layout to match your brand. Your card is ready to share in minutes.

Is Cardly™ free?

Yes! Cardly™ offers a free plan that includes one digital business card with essential features like QR code sharing, basic analytics, and contact management. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited cards, advanced analytics, lead capture, NFC support, and more.

How do I share my card?

You can share your Cardly™ card in multiple ways: scan your unique QR code, tap with NFC (Pro), share your personal link via text or email, embed it in your email signature, or let others scan your physical card with our AI scanner.

Profile & Cover Images

What dimensions should my profile image be?

Recommended upload: 1024 × 1024 px (square, 1:1). Adjust Profile photo size from 20–60% of the card width in the editor. The default is 50%; Full Size photos keep their proportions. Center the face horizontally with the eyes about 35–40% from the top, and keep the head and shoulders inside the crop. JPG, PNG, or WebP works best. Use Crop & Shape in the card editor to choose a circle, square, or Full Size image.

What dimensions should my cover or background image be?

Recommended upload: 1800 × 1400 px (9:7). Square background style: 1200 × 1200 px (1:1). Standard covers keep a 9:7 shape on the full card across phones and desktop. Background photo mode uses a square. Keep important details away from the edges and leave room where the profile photo or logo overlaps the image. Small dashboard previews can crop differently, so check the full card before sharing. These are recommended sizes; existing images can still be used.

Which image formats and file sizes can I upload?

For profile photos and cover images, use JPG/JPEG, PNG, or WebP. You can select an original image up to 25 MB; Cardly optimizes it automatically before upload. HEIC/HEIF and GIF are not supported for these uploads, so convert them to JPG, PNG, or WebP first. If an upload fails, check the format and file size, then try again with a smaller image.

Features

Can I customize my card design?

Absolutely. Cardly™ offers full design customization including colors, fonts, layouts, and templates. Upload your own logo, choose background styles, and arrange your information exactly how you want it.

What is lead capture?

Lead capture allows visitors who view your card to submit their own contact information back to you. It's a powerful networking tool — every card share becomes a potential lead. Available on Pro plans.

Can I use NFC with Cardly™?

Yes! Pro users can write their Cardly™ card URL to NFC tags and stickers using our built-in NFC writer. Simply tap your NFC-enabled phone to the tag to share your card instantly.

How does the AI card scanner work?

Point your camera at any traditional paper business card, and our AI-powered scanner will extract the contact details automatically. The information is parsed and saved to your contacts — no manual typing required.

Can I create email signatures?

Yes. Cardly™ generates professional HTML email signatures that include your card details and a link or QR code. Copy and paste them into Gmail, Outlook, or any email client.

What analytics do I get?

Cardly™ tracks card views, unique visitors, QR code scans, link clicks, and contact saves. Pro users get detailed analytics including geographic data, device breakdowns, and view trends over time.

Billing & Plans

What's included in the free plan?

The free plan includes one digital business card, QR code sharing, a shareable link, basic card analytics, and contact management. It's everything you need to get started with digital networking.

What does Pro include?

Pro unlocks unlimited cards, advanced analytics, lead capture forms, NFC tag writing, AI card scanner, custom email signatures, virtual backgrounds, priority support, and team features.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro is available as a monthly or annual subscription. Check our pricing page for current rates. Annual plans include a significant discount compared to monthly billing.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time from your account settings. You'll continue to have access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account simply reverts to the free plan — your account is never closed automatically.

What happens to my account and contacts if I cancel?

Your account stays open forever. Even after canceling Pro, you can still log in, view your cards, and export your full contacts list (CSV) at any time from the Contacts page. We never lock you out of your own data — cancellation only removes Pro-only features (extra cards, advanced analytics, lead capture, NFC, etc.). If you ever want a full copy of your data or to delete your account entirely, you can do that from Settings or by emailing support@mycardly.app.

Do you offer discounted community pricing?

Yes! We offer full Pro access for just $1/year to students (.edu), teachers, nonprofits (.org / 501(c)(3)), religious institutions, and municipal government employees (.gov). Contact us at support@mycardly.app with proof of eligibility and we'll set up your plan.

Privacy & Security

Is my data secure?

Yes. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS 1.2+ in transit, AES-256 at rest), bcrypt password hashing, and secure cloud infrastructure. Payment processing is handled by Stripe with full PCI DSS compliance. See our Trust Center for details.

Who can see my card?

Your public card is visible to anyone with the link or QR code — you control what information appears on it. Your account details, analytics, and contacts are private and only accessible to you.

Can I delete my account?

Yes. You can request account deletion from your settings page or by contacting support@mycardly.app. We will delete or anonymize all your personal data within 30 days of your request.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with regular backups and monitoring. For more details, see our Privacy Policy and Trust Center.

Devices & Compatibility

Will Cardly™ work on my phone?

Cardly™ works in any modern browser on iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Linux, and ChromeOS. There's nothing to install — your card is just a web page. The dashboard, editor, and contact manager are fully responsive and optimized for mobile.

Which phones support NFC tap-to-share?

NFC reading is supported on virtually all iPhones from iPhone 7 onward (iOS 14+) and almost all Android phones released in the last 7+ years. Writing NFC tags from inside Cardly™ requires Chrome on Android (Web NFC API). To write tags from an iPhone, use a free third-party app like NFC Tools — simply paste your Cardly™ share URL into it.

Does Cardly™ work offline?

Your public card link works anywhere with an internet connection. If the recipient is offline at the moment of scan, the page will load once they reconnect. The QR code, NFC tag, and link itself never expire and don't require any app on the recipient's device.

Can I add my card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet?

Apple Wallet and Google Wallet passes are on our roadmap — you'll see a 'Coming Soon' note in the share menu today. In the meantime, recipients can save your full contact directly to their phone's address book with one tap from your public card page (we generate a standard .vcf vCard).

Contacts, CRM & Integrations

How do I export my contacts?

Go to the Contacts page, click the Export button, and download a CSV of every contact you've collected — including lead-capture submissions, scanned cards, and manually added entries. The CSV includes name, email, phone, company, title, LinkedIn, tags, notes, and date added. Export works on every plan, including the free plan, and remains available even if you cancel Pro.

Can I import contacts from another tool?

Yes. The Contacts page supports CSV import with column mapping — bring in contacts from LinkedIn, HubSpot, Google Contacts, or any other CRM that exports to CSV. Duplicate detection runs automatically by email and phone.

Can I sync leads to Salesforce, HubSpot, or other CRMs?

Direct push integrations with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, and Pipedrive are on our roadmap. Today, every contact and lead-capture submission can be exported as CSV for upload, and Pro users can configure a custom outbound webhook from card settings to push new leads to Zapier, Make, n8n, or any internal endpoint in real time.

How does the AI contact scanner work?

From the Contacts page, tap 'Scan Card' and point your camera at any physical business card. Our AI extracts name, job title, company, phone, email, website, and LinkedIn — usually in just a few seconds. You can review and edit every field before saving.

Physical Cards & NFC Products

Does Cardly™ sell physical NFC cards?

Physical card ordering through Cardly™ is coming soon. You can continue sharing your digital card and QR code. If you already own a programmable NFC tag or sticker, write your Cardly™ share URL to it using the NFC writer or a compatible NFC app.

How long does shipping take for physical cards?

Physical card ordering is coming soon. Shipping options and delivery estimates will be shown when ordering becomes available. If you already placed an order, you can still view its status in Print Orders.

My printed card or NFC tag arrived damaged. What do I do?

For an existing physical card order placed through Cardly™, email support@mycardly.app with your order number. For cards or NFC tags purchased from another retailer, contact that retailer. For issues with your digital Cardly™ card or QR code, contact Cardly™ support.

Troubleshooting

My NFC tag isn't working when tapped

Try these steps in order: (1) Make sure NFC is enabled in your phone's settings. (2) On iPhone, the NFC reader is at the top edge — hold the top of the phone to the tag, not the back. (3) Remove any thick case (especially metal/magnetic) that might block the signal. (4) Re-write the tag using your Cardly™ NFC Writer — some tags are write-once and can't be reprogrammed. (5) If the tag is older than ~5 years or has been outdoors a lot, it may be physically degraded — try a fresh NTAG215 tag.

My QR code looks blurry or won't scan

Open the editor, go to the QR tab, and switch Error Correction to 'High' — this makes the code far more tolerant of damage, glare, and low resolution. Avoid placing a center logo larger than ~20% of the code, and make sure the contrast between QR color and background is strong (dark QR on light background scans best). When printing, export at the largest size offered.

My email signature looks broken in Outlook

Outlook (especially desktop versions) strips a lot of modern HTML. Use the 'Outlook-compatible' template option in Signatures — it generates an email-safe table-based layout instead of CSS Grid/Flexbox. If logos or photos don't show, your recipient's email client may be blocking external images; the signature will still render with the text fallback. For Gmail, copy with formatting (Cmd/Ctrl+A then Cmd/Ctrl+C) and paste into Gmail's signature box, not the source HTML view.

I can't log in / forgot my password

You can sign in with your account email or a phone number you previously verified in Cardly. Password resets still go to the account email: use the 'Forgot password' link and we'll email a reset link valid for 1 hour. If you signed up through Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, or Apple, use that same provider's sign-in button. Still stuck? Email support@mycardly.app.

My card photo or background won't upload

For profile photos and cover images, use JPG/JPEG, PNG, or WebP. You can select an original image up to 25 MB; Cardly optimizes it automatically before upload. HEIC/HEIF and GIF are not supported for these uploads, so convert them to JPG, PNG, or WebP first. If an upload fails, check the format and file size, then try again with a smaller image.

Teams & Enterprise

Can I use Cardly™ for my team?

Yes! Cardly™ supports team accounts where you can manage multiple cards under one organization. Admins can set brand guidelines, templates, and manage team members from a central dashboard.

What enterprise features are available?

Enterprise features include centralized team management, enforced brand consistency, bulk card creation, admin controls, advanced analytics across the organization, and dedicated support.

How does team billing work?

Team billing is handled per-seat. The team admin manages the subscription and can add or remove members as needed. All team members get access to Pro features under the team plan.
